Here’s the front of one of the Tooth Fairy pillows:

Each one will be in different color combinations and I’ll put the beading in different patterns, too. They have a ribbon sewn at the top that fits over the doorknob to make it easier for the Tooth Fairy to take the tooth and leave a gift.

I have all of the different pieces for my pillows cut out and now I’m trying to decide which colors of wings to put with which pillows, and then I’ll sit there and sew all of the small pieces on the pockets, after I make a couple more batches of bath salts. Hopefully there’s something good on TV somewhere, so I have something to do while I sew.

————————————-

Added Later: I have two more bath salt batches done & packed in their containers – Blackberry & one I named Flirty Fruity – and one pillow ready to be put together with the sewing machine. It really turned out cute, I like the new ideas I’m having for them, it will make each one unique. I’ll post a picture of the front panel later.

I swear there is so much estrogen flying around my house most of the time these days that you could catch it in a jar. I’m trying to remember if I was just as moody and melodramatic as my own daughter is at 17, but I can’t. I must have been, I know my mom & I fought a lot. I’m gonna need a Florida rental vacation before its all said and done!

Anyway, I have two batches of salt fragranced up & drying. The colorant I have isn’t working on the salt, so I’ll have to add that after I buy some more. I did basil lime & cucumber melon this time & they both smell awesome. My patterns for the Tooth Fairy pillows are ready to be used, too, I’m just resting my back for a few minutes before I start on that.

I got everything I needed to make my bath salts, so I think I’ll start that today, since it actually takes longer than you’d think, especially if you figure in the drying time needed for each batch. I also got the rest of the felt I need for the Tooth Fairy pillows and will work on those while I’m waiting for bath salt to dry.

So apparently, I’m spending the day working.

I got a bunch of the tooth appliques cut out for my pillows, then I decided to add little wings instead of embroidering the words “Tooth Fairy” on it, I thought it would look cuter and, at the same time, save me some work. I’m going to do the wings in colors that contrast the pillows, so I’ll need to remember that when I go felt shopping this weekend.

I think I’m going to lie down and have a little nap here in awhile. I never sleep well when Troy is on night shift and he just finished another rotation, plus we’ve been dealing with somewhat of a threatened feeling in our neighborhood lately, so I’m super tired today. Of course, it seems like that’s all I do anymore.

Well, instead of going in the living room & cutting anything out, I went in there with my pillows, a blanket and my book and went back to sleep. Its so cold here this morning and I was so sleepy. At least I managed to throw dinner in the crock pot first, though. I excavated a pork roast from the freezer, cut up some carrots & minced some garlic & added lemon pepper. It smells really good already.

I’m so ready for school to be out for the summer, I’m so tired of getting up at 6:20 five days a week, it feels like I’m exhausted all the time. It feels strange that this will be the last year it matters this much, since our youngest graduates next year. I told Troy I wouldn’t know how to act after 15 years of getting up early to get kids to school. I’m sure I’ll figure it out :)

I finished all of my swap projects yesterday afternoon. I hope the weather will clear up so I can take everything outside & take some pictures at some point today, then I can figure out how I’m going to package them, and get them in the box & ready to go.

I guess at some point today I’ll start cutting out my tooth fairy pillows & get them ready to be assembled (I’ll have to applique the tooth onto the pocket by hand). That’s good, though, because I really like working with felt and the pillows are a lot of fun and really cute, too. After that, wrist cuffs!!! Woohoo!!

I really love to take vacations, I love pretty much every part of it, from traveling to relaxing at my destination. The only big problem is the cost, it seems like once you pay to get there & pay for your hotel room there isn’t any money left to do anything but hang out at the hotel.

That’s when you look for an all inclusive vacation and save a lot of money. When you book an all inclusive vacation, it takes care of all of your meals, your snacks, drinks (in most places even alcoholic beverages) and the taxes and gratuities. There are places that offer amazing activities in the package, too (like kayaking, paddle boats, snorkeling, tennis volleyball and the use of the beach chairs and hammocks).

If you have kids, all of their activities are covered, too, so they get to do a lot more things with this type of vacation package than you’d normally be able to afford for them to. Oh yeah, all of your nightlife entertainment usually comes in the package, too. So, really, the only extras you’d end up paying for would be any excursions you want to take and stuff like that. If you thought you couldn’t take a really nice vacation to a tropical locale, you really ought to check out vacations.net.

I’m almost finished with my big project for the swap & I’m so happy that I decided to just get working on it, because its really looking nice & I know she’s really going to like it. That & I’ve been wanting to try to make one for a long time & kept putting it off because I was unsure of one of the steps, now I know how to do it & will likely make several more as time & money allow. So yay!

After that I have one other small thing to do then I can get my pictures taken of everything and package it up & mail it. I’m so excited for her to receive this!

Thanks to everyone who did vote for me for that camera, but its not worth it to me. As soon as I took the lead someone posted a nasty comment about how my post was phony. Funny, that person barely became a member & that was the only thing they’d ever done. It feels like he put them up to it & to me, that’s bad sportsmanship. I would never have stooped to that for a $99 camera. I’ll just wait until I’ve paid for all of our daughter’s upcoming fees, senior portraits and everything else we have to pay in the next few months & buy my own.
