I’m telling you, dieting is sure frustrating, at times. I start out doing really well, then I slip up & it all seems to snowball from there. There are times when I’ve thought about getting weight loss surgery, but I know my insurance would never cover it, and there’s no way we could ever afford it on our own. I’ve also thought about taking a supplement & do, on occasion, take hoodia, so doing a Diet Comparison of all of supplements you see on TV is helpful, I haven’t made a decision about them, but I have read up on them. I just keep doing what I think will help & hope for the best.
Caffeinate Me!I gave my friends their Tree of Life pendants last night and Sarah, at least, loved hers. She just couldn’t put it down, she kept holding it all night & mentioned she had planned to order a necklace to wear, but now she was going to wait & get it for something else and wear that one. I’m pretty sure that Liz liked hers, too, but she’s a little shyer about things, and that’s ok, even if she didn’t, because its the thought that went into it & not the item that matters.
Caffeinate Me!I never realized that it was possible for me to feel behind-the-times technologically, until someone mentioned needing to buy a new HDMI cable and I had no idea what they were, what “HDMI” stood for (high density multimedia interface) or what you’d even use one on. So I looked it up, and apparently it the COAX of the modern age, because it transfers video and sound digitally instead using the old analog cables & you get a truer picture & clearer sound. Troy even told me that newer DVD players & game consoles already have the port for the cables on the back. At least now I feel less like a dinosaur.
Caffeinate Me!I swear, I don’t get motivated to do anything booth-wise until I’m under a time-crunch. Because I’m a dork, apparently. Maybe I’ll get around to doing something this weekend, at some point. I’m not even going to try to fool myself anymore.. I have to make time to get this stuff done, I am quickly running out of time.
I did get a few more pendants done, because out of everything I do, that can be done while I’m staring at the tube having family time.
Caffeinate Me!I did manage to get some smaller rings for the Tree of Life pendants, but its a lot harder making them on a smaller scale. I made two for bridal shower gifts for some friends of mine (they’re sisters & having a double ceremony) and did one with green & red and another with green & yellow so they look like apple trees. I haven’t done any others, I need to get on top of the housework again, and then I plan to do a bunch of lip balms and maybe a couple of types of soap.
Caffeinate Me!I’m having a hard time finding rings for my tree of life pendants in the sizes I want & I also can’t find wire that’s sturdy enough or thick enough to with stand everything that has to be done to make one, so I’m very frustrated with it today.
I did finish the others, I just ended up going with pretty ribbon to hang them from, as none of my beads would fit over it. They look nice, though & could easily be changed to a chain if someone bought one & had a favorite chain. Of course, a hemp necklace would be lovely with one on it, too, its too bad I hate messing around with those & don’t feel I’m very good at it.
Caffeinate Me!Here are the four seasons, starting with Winter & Spring

These are made with metal rings to frame the trees, wire & mixed glass beads.
Next are Summer & Fall, made the same way:

Here is the Tree of Life pendant I did in my daughter’s school colors:

I’ll be back in a few with the other four.
Caffeinate Me!I made 5 Tree of Life pendants last night while I was watching movies. I made one of each of the seasons & the last one in teal, black & silver (my daughter’s school colors) because I was playing around. They all turned out pretty nice, I just need to decide what I’m going to use to hang them. I’ll probably go with a color-coordinated, sheer ribbon with beads. If whoever wants them doesn’t like that, I guess they can change it to something else, right? The only problem is that I really want to make more now & I’m out of the rings I use to frame the trees on. I can’t buy anymore right now, because I need gas in the car (my daughter used almost a 1/2 tank in one day – WTF?) so I guess its back to working on less fun projects.
Caffeinate Me!Both of the soaps I made yesterday turned out beautifully. The tie-dye in the Rise & Shine variety came out nice & subtle on the top of the bar (which I was very pleased with, I was afraid it wouldn’t show at all). The peach came out the perfect color & fragrance and the new mold works really well. The bars are a little hard to get out of both of them, but I’ll figure it out eventually.
I found my glass measuring cup, so today, after I get the dishes done, again, I’ll make a couple of lip balm flavors (‘Nilla Mint & Chardonnay) and maybe some soap, too. I plan to start cutting some purses out tomorrow or Thursday, so that when the mood strikes, they’re ready to sew. (cause cutting out is my least fave part)
