I’m trying to figure out whether I want to go to college in a couple of years & what I want to study to become. I know that health care jobs are the big thing these days, but I’m not sure I have the personality to work in that field. I don’t like people all that much unless I already know them. I’m afraid I’d be one of those people that nobody likes being around them, you know? There are a lot of things I’ve dreamed of doing over the years, but nothing, so far has kept my interest for all that long, so I guess I’ll see what I can find out and plan from there.

Rhi has lost her new phone & then the loaner one she had that belonged to a friend. I really wish I could afford to get her anunlocked phone and just take it to our provider, but I can’t even do that right now. We have a few fairly large expenses coming up and we just don’t feel like we’re in a place to be doing that right now, so it’ll have to wait, I’m thinking.

I haven’t heard from Erin in awhile, I hope to soon. The last I heard he had just gotten out of jail in Texarkana & needed me to send him money to get his dog out of the pound (which I gladly did), and then he called me when she was out & he was on his way again. I’m sure he’s doing fine, I just miss him sometimes and start to worry a bit about where he might be.

We’re all doing alright, things are changing in my family, hopefully for the better. I have a lot of hope for my oldest brother for the first time in many years, so here’s to actually seeing that happen for him. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, at any rate. I’m looking forward to seeing my other brother at Thanksgiving, it’s been almost 20 years & we have a lot of catching up to do!

As soon as I’m done with my housework today, I’m going to get those sets of curtains sewn so I can get my altar set up & ready to go. I really need to be using it every day, things are just crazy around here right now & I need a place or a way to calm down & get myself centered. I seriously feel like I’m losing my mind most days & I can’t deal with that anymore. So, anything I can do to help get rid of that feeling needs to be done, and quickly.

I still haven’t gone out & gotten that vanity bench from the workshop, but I do have a solution for my altar. As soon as I get the two sets of curtains sewn that I need to do (hopefully tomorrow) I’m going to put my sewing machine away & use the sewing table for it. It faces North already, which is my preferred direction. I had planned to take it out of here, but it’ll be a good place for my altar until I need to use the space for something else.

I really, badly need to do laundry tomorrow, since I have two sets of sheets in my hamper that need washing, and don’t fit my bed, so they’re taking up a lot of room that I could be using for my own, actual dirty clothes. I just want to get the rest of the stuff out of here that doesn’t belong, so the space is all mine. I know that sounds weird, but it’s true, I just want my own space.

There are fewer of the religious type at the lake on Sunday, but that day always ends up being so busy for us, between really wanting (and needing) to sleep a little later, getting food ready to feed all of our friends that evening & then having everyone over, it feels like we’re running nonstop if we add swimming to the mix.

After swimming we came home, I cleaned the house a bit, took a shower & fixed myself something to eat, then Dawn, Morgan & Beth came over & we played Rock Band until about midnight, which was a ton of fun. Today, we’ll have everyone over to eat at about 6, watch True Blood & then decide what to do from there. We’ll play a game of some sort, I’m sure, we always do. I’m washing towels & such right now, so I can take a shower, because a cat got into the linen closet & peed on all of the clean ones that were in there, so we had none to use (a bunch are in Rhi’s room, and now that she’s single, she’s never home to get them out). I’m going to start dinner in the crock pot in about an hour (Thai chicken wings in peanut sauce), so they’ll be ready when everyone gets here. Other than that, I’m going to vacuum my bedroom & see about getting some sort of a table on the other side of the bed for the radio, so I can use my dresser as an altar. I have a bench that goes with my vanity that would probably work out okay, as long as it doesn’t smell like mildew anymore, so I think I’ll check on that in a bit.

I have such the exciting life.

Dawn came over tonight to get away from the houseful of kids she suddenly has again & I helped her get caught up on “Weeds” so she can watch the new season with us. She was just as shocked at the ending of Season 5 as we were when we watched it. It took her several minutes to even process what happened. It was fun watching the last few episodes with her, since we haven’t really watched any of that series together, so I was able to gether reaction to things that I knew were going to happen in advance. I’m excited to watch this next episode on Monday & see what happens to hapless Nancy Botwin & her brood!

I will get something for my niece, though & maybe for Craig’s girlfriend’s daughter, too, since they’re both still kids & was thinking of making an order from my wholesaler for my friends, since all like the same sort of stuff that I do. I know I can find each of them something really nice that way & that they’ll all be pleasantly surprised with their gifts. I will probably start looking soon, so I can get an idea of how much it’s going to cost me to do what I want to for everyone.

I’m still trying to decide what to do about the booth & future festivals, we just aren’t sure right now, there are so many other things to think about before we can really make any concrete plans. I have had an offer to buy my walls that I made for the booth this year, but at this point, I don’t know if there will even be a faire next year, since no one is in the best of health & we aren’t there to help, so I guess we’ll see on that, too.

I know I’d definitely replace all of the windows, just so we could actually open them & have fresh air in here occasionally, when it’s cool out, like today & fix the roof on the back of the house, so it has a bit of a pitch & the snow will slide off as it melts instead of making the roof leak. There’s really a lot that I would do, and this house would be a showplace when I was done, but I’m never going to own it, so really it’s all just a pipedream, anyway.

Tonight, Morgan’s making manicotti for dinner & bringing it over & we’re going to watch “True Blood” and then play D&D for awhile. I love weekends with our friends and really wouldn’t trade them for anything else in the world. I would hang out in a steel building with no heat or A/C if it meant we could all be together doing something fun, or even just sitting around talking. It sounds weird, but they are all such a huge part of my life that I couldn’t make it without any of them.

Next weekend? Camping!
